An Interactive Installation achieved by Arduino and Processing explores the relationship between annoying disturbance and people’s reaction to it.
The main installation is a baby doll that contains a wireless microphone connected to the computer and Arduino with Bluetooth. The detector on the Arduino indicates the viewer’s heart rate. When the heart rate goes up, the baby cries louder, thus forming an anxiety loop that continuously disturbs the viewer and enlarges the crying sound. The only way for the viewer to lower or even stop the baby's crying is to calm down. When the viewer’s heart rate goes below 80, the baby will stop crying.
